Sizes run XS to XXL against UK 6 to 22. The numbers below are body measurements, so measure yourself rather than an old garment, and read the ease notes for the style you want, because a fleece pullover and a rib trouser are cut very differently.

Finding your size

Every MOUDEST piece is cut on a UK size grid running from XS to XXL. The figures below are body measurements, not flat garment measurements, so measure yourself and compare against the grid rather than laying an old garment on the floor. Loungewear is drafted with more ease than tailoring: our sweat tops sit roughly 10cm wider than your bust measurement, the fleece pieces roughly 14cm wider, and the knitted cardigans are cut to close over a top rather than skim the body.

How to measure

Work in your underwear with a soft tape, standing relaxed rather than holding your breath. Take the bust across the fullest point with the tape level at the back. Take the waist at the narrowest point, usually 2-3cm above the navel. Take the hip 20cm below the waist, over the fullest part of the seat. For inside leg, measure from the crotch seam of a trouser you already wear to where you want the hem to land.

Lengths and rises

Inside leg is graded gently so the fit changes at the hip rather than the hem: 76cm on XS and S, 78cm on M and L, 79cm on XL and XXL. Wide-leg lounge trousers are deliberately shorter at 74cm so they break above the ankle bone and do not drag on a rug. Front rise runs 28cm on XS up to 33cm on XXL, and every trouser has a covered elastic waistband with a flat drawcord, so a waistband can be pulled in by up to 8cm without bunching.

Night dresses measure 96cm centre back on the short-sleeve style and 108cm on the long-sleeve brushed style, both taken from the highest shoulder point. Longline cardigans finish 82cm centre back on M, cropped cardigans 52cm. Sleeve length from centre back neck to cuff is 78cm on M and moves by 1.5cm per size.

If you fall between two sizes

• Between sizes on the bust and you want the relaxed look in the photographs: take the larger size.
• Between sizes and you prefer a top that stays put when you reach up: take the smaller size, the rib hem holds well.
• Bust and hip in different columns: buy separates rather than a set, they are sold and priced individually.
• Tall through the body: the fleece pullover and the longline cardigan carry the most length and are the safest starting point.

Ease by style, in plain numbers

Crew sweatshirt: 100cm finished chest on M against a 93cm body measurement. Relaxed hoodie: 106cm on M. Half-zip fleece pullover: 110cm on M with a dropped shoulder that sits 4cm past the natural shoulder point. Strappy jersey night dress: 98cm chest on M with an adjustable strap giving 5cm of movement. Rib lounge trouser: 74cm relaxed waist stretching comfortably to 92cm.
