What we make

MOUDEST makes loungewear and nothing else: cotton sweat sets, brushed and recycled fleece pieces, wide-leg lounge trousers, knitted cardigans and cotton night dresses. Everything is designed and sewn in our Mitcham studio, in one calm palette of sand and pine, in sizes XS to XXL. We keep the range narrow on purpose, so we can hold real stock of every size in every colour rather than showing you a photograph of something we do not have.

How we work

We draft a pattern, sew a first sample, wear it around the studio for a week, then change what annoyed us. When a style is right we sew a full run of it in every size, press it, check it and put it on the stock rail. Only then does it appear on the site. That order of things is why an order leaves us in 2-5 working days and why we can tell you honestly whether a size is on the shelf or sold out. Fabric comes from a short list of six cloths we know well, and the colour card moves slowly, so a cardigan bought this autumn still sits beside a trouser bought last spring.
